My favourite word is 'pande- mian'. Plato made a distinction be- tween the two aspects of the goddess Aphrodite; Uranian, or "celestial," the goddess of pure love, and Pandemian, or "popu- lar," the goddess presi- ding over ordinary, baser love affairs. I like to cele- brating the unbeautiful and the things that will never be made into films or poems, the stuff in my life that doesn't happen with a sweeping orchestral accompaniment. |
